If you haven't dined at Piccolo Ristorante before, you may not know that we are a small, family & Chef-owned and operated restaurant.  If you have dined with us before, then you most likely know that Chef Andres is the mastermind in the kitchen while his wife Alison works the front of the restaurant with the help of her brother Josiah.  

Pretty soon - Piccolo will be gaining another family member as Chef Andres and his wife Alison welcome their first child into the world sometime this month.  We pride ourselves on being a small family owned and operated restaurant and believe that our guests appreciate the personalized touch and care we give to each dining experience.  It is always a pleasure to share our family story with our guests and we love creating and developing relationships with our diners.  We love what we do and love sharing our passion with others.  Being able to connect with our guests on a personal level is part of what makes our restaurant so special - something you won't find at many other restaurants in Fort Lauderdale.

So stay tuned for the big announcement and don't be surprised if we are closed for a few days so Chef and Alison can adjust to the new addition.  

And of course - no need to worry, Josiah will be holding down the front of house while Alison is on maternity leave, but she will most definitely be back!

Our lives are jam packed with everything from work to school to family responsibilities.  Many Americans don't have time, or can't make time, to take a vacation.  We get so wrapped up in our daily lives we forget to cherish the moments - the quiet time in the morning before the day gets started, the feel of the rain on our skin when we get caught in a rain shower, the taste of a great bottle of wine or even the flavors in our dinner.

Here at Piccolo Ristorante we strive to "transcend the ordinary".  There are over 1,000 restaurants in Fort Lauderdale; many of the locals and foodies go out to eat multiple times per week.  With so many places to choose from, how does one decide where to eat?  What If we told you there was a small, "Piccolo", locally owned "hidden gem" featuring made-from-scratch dishes that you truly won't find somewhere else.  Chef Andres' curated menu of exquisite flavors is something you won't want to miss.  From Rabbit Confit, Venison Osso Bucco, Homemade Angolotti with Black Garlic Truffle Butter to Veal Skirt Steak....he is always pushing the limits and creating fabulous and unique dishes.  

Not only do we pride ourselves on Chef Andres' decadent menu of specials - but we offer something even more....we offer our guests the ability to hit pause and savor the moment.  We don't rush people in and out just so we can "turn the tables".  You can find that anywhere - we want you to sit back, relax and enjoy your dinner over a couple of hours and maybe even open a 2nd bottle of wine if you feel like it. Happy New Year to everyone!  Wow! We had some amazing wine dinners over the holiday season.  If you missed out, no worries - we are gearing up to add more to the calendar for 2017!

First up is going to be our Bubbly Wine Pairing Dinner, just in time for a perfect Valentine's date but without the crazy crowds.  Join us on Wednesday February 8th for an evening where we will be sampling a wide variety of "bubbly" wines paired beautifully with Chef's creative menu.

Tis the season to be THANKFUL!

As our 4th season approaches, what a wonderful time for us to look back and express our gratitude for an amazing first 3 years in business.  When we opened Piccolo Ristorante in October of 2013, we were a young, newly married couple with a "crazy" dream.  Chef Andres knew he wanted to cook his own amazing food and Alison just knew she wanted to support him.  Sounds so simple....

The past 3 years have given us the opportunity to meet some truly incredible people and we are forever grateful for those relationships we have built.  It is a true pleasure to go to "work" everyday and create amazing food and offer tremendous service to our guests.  

When there are over 1,000 restaurants in Fort Lauderdale for people to choose from, and when they choose Piccolo - that means the world to us.  We strive to offer each of our guests a unique dining experience; one that they won't find elsewhere and one that is so comfortable and enjoyable they feel like they are having dinner with family.

Trick or Treat...Give me something good to eat!

Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years are all right around the corner and Chef Andres has been working on some yummy specials and menus that are sure to be a treat for your palette!

Our 3rd birthday wine dinner is SOLD OUT - but no fear, we have added a fabulous wine pairing dinner in November.  Join us Wednesday November 16th at 6:30pm for a "Thanksgiving-style" dinner complete with wine pairings.  Head over to our events page for details on all the goodies.

And in case you missed it, Chef has released his menu for his 3rd Annual Feast of the Seven Fishes Christmas Eve dinner.  This traditional Italian dinner features 7 different courses of tapas style seafood dishes.  You can see the full menu and details here.  Please call early for reservations as we will fill up quickly.

Wow, what an amazing whirlwind these first 3 years have been!  We want to take this time to thank each and everyone who has walked through our doors and shared a dining experience with us.  We are very passionate about what we do and we love sharing our favorite food and wine with you!

Since we are talking about birthdays - in case you missed it, our 3rd birthday celebration Wine Pairing Dinner on Thursday October 27th is SOLD OUT!  What?!  Yes, but no worries - we are already anticipating a 2nd night so go ahead and give us a call to reserve your seat.  Tickets are $75/person plus tax/gratuity and include all 4 courses of food and wine.

In case you missed it, on September 13th we got back from our vacation and Chef introduced a "new" menu.  You will still find many of the same fan favorite delicious dishes as before, but some have been rotated off to make room for more SPECIALS!  Chef Andres is now creating a variety of specials that are ever changing - from a "Polpette del dia" (meatball), Steak and Braise of the day and of course a special fish and gamebird.  We will be posting all of the changing specials here - so make sure to check them out and make your reservation and let us know what you want to try.  These are selling out quickly!

A Trip Up the California Coast

On October 11th, Piccolo Ristorante will turn 3 years old.  In order to celebrate our 3rd birthday, we knew we had to plan something amazingly delicious!  While we haven't been able to take a trip to California ourselves, we figured we would pair some amazing California wine with some of Chef Andres' favorite fall recipes and bring them to you.

Join us on Thursday October 27th for a decadent 4-course food and wine pairing dinner.  

To start the evening off, Chef will be preparing a fabulous Pumpkin and Walnut Risotto.  This first course will be paired with a fan favorite Chardonnay by Wente Vineyards.  This single-vineyard Chardonnay is from Monterey and demonstrates a perfect balance of tropical fruit, acidity and creamy notes of butter as well as vanilla and toasty oak from the 10 month barrel aging process. 

Chef's second course will be one of his favorite dishes to prepare and one of the very first specials he created: Butternut Squash Ravioli served with Seared Duck Breast.  This rich and flavorful dish will be paired with Wente Vineyard's signature Pinot Noir.  The beautiful aromas and flavors of cherry, red apple and black tea pair perfectly with the duck.

For the 3rd course, Chef will be preparing Pheasant Cacciatore.  This traditional Italian dish will be paired with the Old Vine Zinfandel from Girard.  Hailing from the northern part of Napa Valley, this decadent Zinfandel exhibits well balanced ripeness and acidity along with complimenting intense fruit flavor and warm spice notes.  The spice notes and acidity will play off the peppers in the Cacciatore just perfectly.

Last but not least, Chef's 4th course will be a decadent chocolate dessert paired with the Girard Petite Sirah.  This Sirah from Napa Valley has beautiful aromas of black cherry, coffee beans, vanilla and even bacon.
